This store is operated by Perla Burgos, trading as Garden Buddy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you order: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the details of what you bought. Your card details go directly to our payment processor — we never see or store your full card number.
When you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
When you contact us: whatever you put in the email.
If you subscribe: your email address.
Why we use it
- To take payment, ship your order, and handle returns
- To email you order confirmations and tracking
- To answer your questions
- To detect and prevent fraud
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To show you relevant ads, if you have consented
Who we share it with
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes our orders
- Shopify Payments and PayPal, to process your payment
- Our fulfilment partner and the carrier, to get the parcel to you — they receive your name, address and phone number, and nothing else
- Advertising and analytics providers, where you have consented
- Authorities, where the law requires it
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the cart and checkout to work, plus optional analytics and advertising cookies. You can accept or decline the optional ones through the banner, and change your mind any time through your browser settings.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years, because tax law requires it. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what we hold about you and get a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Opt out of marketing, at any time, using the unsubscribe link
- Opt out of the sharing of your information for targeted advertising
To exercise any of these, email gardenbuddystore@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
California residents: you have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. Use the same email address.
Children
This store is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site and Shopify’s PCI-compliant checkout. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not store card numbers, which removes the biggest risk.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top and post the new version here.
